A dacha

Somewhere through the years, I have seen a grainy film shot in 1901 which shows Tolstoy walking along, stick in hand, near his country estate outside Moscow. The landed gentry in those pre-revolution days, had a dacha to escape the madness of urban life.

This is my newly acquired dacha.

It's beautiful and already graced by your lovely plants ... just look at those orchids and I see the cyclamen is still flowering too. Might show you mine after their outdoors treatment tomorrow.

Your backyard looks like ours - only we are living here for three years - not one week.
Looks beautiful and exciting. I hope everything went well and without any catastrophies :-)

Your dacha is lovely. What a find! I am impressed by how much you have gotten done in such a short time. (I would still be trying to get the pot to stay in place on the screen.) The front courtyard is beautiful!

Now I want to see the inside. Is that a room at the top, or a source of natural light for the whole house?

Where is your chair??
You need a sitting place in that courtyard.
Looks like a good sitting place.
