Outdoor living

Details from my courtyard prior to going to Melbourne.

I will clean it all up tomorrow and Friday, recover from the 30+ days, and then show you some more at the end of the weekend. I have decided to cease buying cut flowers for inside, so will think about a Peace Lily and a Golden Cane palm to go with the Aspidistra and the Money plant.

You know what I put in the house in winter instead of flowers?
Little tree branches.
They last forever and have the structural look of 'something' in a vase.
You must, however, have a secret pair of secateurs in your backpack/handbag to whip out whenever you pass an interesting looking tree/bush.

Love the colour of your grassy stuff.

How did I miss this post? The top one scares me a little ... looks like a variegated version of the 'wandering jew' that strangles so much of my garden. I love the succulent at the bottom ... those orange edges and the light.

No no no ... you did not miss it ... the date is when I was getting it ready to post but did not actually post it until I got back from Melbourne.

Is that "wandering jew"? I will ensure that I keep it trimmed and cut up the offcuts. Very pretty though.

Went for an idiotic 3 hour walk this morning around the old tram routes near Centennial Park ... and ... found myself two new varieties of succulent ... somehow just leapt into my bakpak.

love the last photo with the light and orange edges. Funny how those plants can jump. #hr walk that is good going, lots of life in the old girl yet.

The ones in the first photo, the green-white ones, are indoor plants in Germany. I find it always very amazing when I see something in your (or Joan Elizabeth's blog) that is definitely a houseplant here is growing wild (as it seems) in Australia.

Really, indoor. I am trying some of the succulents indoors to try to find a way around the cut-flower problem. I think this silver/white creeper would go well in a basket of some sort so long as I rested it outside every so often. Shall give that a try.
